Roofers in Kildare

Roof repairs, re-roofs and flat roofing across north and mid Kildare — Naas, Newbridge, Maynooth, Celbridge, Leixlip, Kilcock and Clane.

Kildare work looks different to Dublin work. Instead of period terraces and hidden parapet gutters, most of what we see is 1990s and 2000s estate housing in the commuter towns, laid in concrete interlocking tile, plus older housing around the town centres.

Those newer roofs generally do not fail across the covering. They fail at the ridge, the verge and the flashings, and they fail in the attic where perished felt and missing ventilation quietly cause damp long before anything shows downstairs. That is what we go looking for in Kildare.

We are Dublin-based and honest about that. The north Kildare towns are an easy run for us; the further west you are in the county, the more it depends on what else we have on that week. Ring and ask — we would rather tell you straight than take a booking we cannot serve well.

Local knowledge

Roofing Problems We See Most In Kildare

Different housing stock fails in different ways. This is what tends to go wrong on Kildare roofs.

Loose and slipped ridge tiles

Mortar-bedded ridges crack out over time and exposed Kildare gables catch a lot of wind. Loose ridge tiles are one of our most common call-outs.

Verge tiles lifting at gables

Wind gets under the edge tile at the gable end and works it loose, particularly on open sites with little shelter.

Perished felt and damp attics

Estate roofs where the tile is sound but the underlay has torn at the eaves, leaving black mould on the sarking and damp insulation.

Poor attic ventilation

Many houses were built with no proper eaves or ridge ventilation, so warm damp air condenses on the underside of the roof.

Flashings to porches and garages

Lead where a porch or integral garage roof meets the main wall lifts or was never dressed correctly to begin with.

Ageing extension flat roofs

Large rear extensions built during the boom now have felt roofs at or past the end of their service life.

What Our Customers Say

Feedback from homeowners around Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare.

Had water coming in around the chimney for months. Mikey came out the next morning, showed me photos of the flashing and had it sorted in a day. No fuss, no big bill.

Full re-roof on a 1930s house. The lads were on time every morning, kept the garden clean and the finish is spot on. Would have them back.
Declan O'BrienBray, Co. Wicklow
Three quotes and Mikey's was the only one that explained what we were actually paying for. Honest to deal with from start to finish.
